Creede, Colorado & Directions

Creede, Colorado

Creede is a historic mining town in Southwestern Colorado. While the mines closed in the 1980s, a legacy of unique structures and can-do attitudes remains. Located at the headwaters of the Rio Grande, Creede is known for its fly-fishing, hiking, and endless possibilities for outdoor recreation. Creede is only 45 minutes from Wolf Creek Pass Ski Area and has great access to backcountry skiing and snowshoeing.  Mineral County is made up of 95% publicly held lands and is surrounded by two vast wilderness areas. Downtown Creede boasts art galleries, great restaurants, and a nationally-recognized repertory theater. Creede has its own distinctive culture and ambiance, and we think it's one of the “last best places” in the American West.

Visit the Creede/Mineral County Chamber of Commerce for more information about dining, shopping, and attractions.
